From Saturday 28th March to Sunday 12th April, SeaQuarium Weston will be offering a whole host of extra Easter activities, talks and feeds for the whole family.

The Easter Eggstravaganza is back by popular demand. This time the children will be encouraged to follow an ‘Eggsplorers’ Trail and unscramble a secret Easter password to win a chocolate prize. Also there is an exciting competition to win 16GB iPod Touch, all you need to do is find the missing Golden egg and capture a photo with the egg and upload it to our Facebook page to be entered.

There will also be an Easter Eggsplorers Craft Club taking place in SeaQuarium’s Ray Zone where children can make their very own Easter Bonnet. The main feed of the day takes place at 14.30 and features sharks, Rays, Piranhas and Tropical Reef Zone species.

clownfishNew for 2015 at SeaQuarium Weston is the Clownfish Feed and presentation.  SeaQuarium is fortunate to be home to 4 species of Clownfish. Watch and learn all about the Clownfish from the SeaQuarium Aquarists who look after and care for these beautiful fish.

The False percula Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) live amongst anemones and often ‘groom’ their host and consume the parasites and debris that cling to the tentacles.

Operations Manager, Leanne Mitchell says ‘Clownfish Cove is one of SeaQuarium’s most popular exhibits and this year visitors of all ages will be able to learn even more about these wonderful Clownfish from facts including that they are mainly found in the warm waters of the Indo-Pacific and Red Sea to the fact that they are usually found amongst their host anemones in tropical waters and coral reefs.’

During the Easter holidays all of SeaQuariums exhibits will be open as usual as we invite eggsplorers to find the lettered eggs hidden around the aquarium. Standard admission prices are £8.50 for adults and £6.50 for children. There will be talks and demonstrations throughout the day where visitors can learn more about the weird and wonderful creatures that live in the oceans and beyond. You can also watch as our Clownfish are fed on a daily basis.

SeaQuarium Weston is located on its own pier on the beach in Weston-super-Mare and opens at 10am daily with last admissions at 5pm. Further information is available from SeaQuarium’s official website: www.seaquarium.co.uk or by telephone on 01934 613361.
